Reading the info that came out today, essentially confirming the existence of a private server, hurt more than hearing about the shutdown 7 years ago. It's sad how much negativity and paranoia this whole thing has brought to this community in the last 24 hours.ĭoes it suck that somewhere out there, folks are playing on their own personal paradise? Absolutely. it's 100% against the spirit of the game. I don't think they even remember why they play City of Heroes to begin with. Like legit they could have even just shared the process of getting it u pand going and let other people make public servers that may or may not get hit with Cease and Desist letters if they wanted to keep their stuff private-but instead it's Fuck You, I got mine, to the City of Heroes community of all people. Well good job to them, lack of information sharing and elitism still had them exposed (as it was bound to happen) even when they get this sub's moderators to help them out, and as far as is publicly known, no one else has ever seen or been given the info on how to host or create a private CoH server. Except one has massive amounts of private servers that aren't gated off to the community, whereas CoH only has one working private server that almost no one who cares about the game has gotten to play or ever will see. Especially since there's now proof of what happens when you have private servers become too huge: Fucking classic WoW is re-releasing 15 years later.Ĭity of Heroes was released the SAME year as classic WoW.
